When you take it off make sure that you do not harm the leaf. Ideally you have taken off the  whole leaf without leaving any part of it on the stem. That will give you successful results of the propagation.

Once you obtain the leaf, you need to leave it in a dry place for a few days so that it becomes callous. After that you may  lay it on top of a well draining soil layer.

Alternatively, you could even insert it into the soil too. You could see how those calloused edges form roots and within a few Week’s time you will see how they form new plants.

You may  apply the soak and dry method.

How to repot them

You could consider repotting these plants during spring, summer and in fall

Consider that you are someone who lives in a climate where the winter season arrives early, then I would recommend you report them during spring and in summer as those two seasons would be the best.

Keep in mind that you need to avoid repotting them during winter as it is their dormant period.

You should water these plants two prior to repotting them. Best is to keep these plants on the dry side when you repot them.

To start off, you should first loosen the root ball from the pot. After that you may fill the pot with a potting medium which will allow the top of the root ball to be even or slightly above the pot top.

If the soil medium is light, chances are that your plant would sink due to its weight. In that circumstance you could consider adding a handful of compost.  You may  add the mix around the root ball.
